Kalaneuvos Oy’s fish processing factory in Finland Sastamala is expanded its operations and more than doubled its production facilities. The extension was the largest in the history of Kalaneuvos. For example, they doubled their smoking capacity to over 35,000 kilos per day. Kalaneuvos, the largest fish smoker in the Nordic Countries Finland is now able to smoke more than eight million kilos of fish a year. It`s fish filleting capacity, in turn, is growth to over 12 million kilograms a year.
According to the increased production capacity amount of by-products also increased significantly. This challenge was solved with help of two Hivacon vacuum conveying systems.
GREENFOOD GROUP Salico Oy has choosed Hivacon Systems Oy as its partner when expanding its operations in the Helsinki office. Salico Oy supplies fresh processed fruit and vegetables to professional kitchens, retailers and fast food chains. The company is part of the Swedish Greenfood Group. Hivacon supports their production process; significantly enhancing Salico’s materials management. The Hivacon delivery included among other things, piping and equipment design, electrical and automation solutions, and the delivery of related materials.
Now days Salico will collect and transport several thousand kilograms per hour with help of Hivacon. Biowaste are conveyed directly from production in to waste containers. Material is moving via pipelines by the force of vacuum and air flow at a speed of up to 12-17 m/s.
Apetit Oyj and Hivacon systems Oy made agreement to supply an vacuum conveying system to be more sustainable energy solution compared to common systems on the market. Production is running 24/7, for this reason, the conveying system must be very reliable and cost-effective in saving energy. This challenge inspired us and we managed to develop a new an innovative solution that we will use in future projects.
